David Bogue
David Bogue (1750-1825) was a pioneer in world evangelism and missionary effort.
A Scottish-born Calvinist converted in childhood, he commenced pastoral work
among the English Congregationalists in the 1770's. In England he soon became
renowned as a
"man of prayer" and a highly influential Gospel preacher. Iain Murray
describes him as "one of the greatest of the forgotten figures of Church
history" (The Puritan Hope, Banner of Truth Trust, 1998, p136.)
